X-Trail Updated for 2010 Dec-2009
The Nissan X-Trail is popular and well-established in New Zealand, boasting distinctive styling, intelligent 4WD ability and two proven drivetrain options. With the New Year the X-Trail is further enhanced with upgrades across the entire range.
The X-Trail range now features four models: two petrol and two diesel engine variants. Petrol models feature a 2.5L four cylinder engine producing 125kW of power and 226Nm of torque, with drive transmitted via Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) featuring 6-speed manual mode override. Diesel models share a 2.0L four cylinder turbocharged engine producing 110kW of power and an impressive 320Nm of torque. Diesel models transmit drive through a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode override.
Every X-Trail includes Intelligent All-Mode 4x4-i, which allows the driver to select 2WD, variable-split 4WD which redistributes torque between the front and rear wheels as required, and 4WD LOCK which locks the torque split at 50:50 between front and rear wheels.
Two engine choices and two specification levels make up the revised X-Trail range for 2010. The petrol engine range comprises the ST-L and Ti models. This features new 17 inch 6-spoke alloy wheels with 215/60 R17 tyres, Nissan Anti-Theft Alarm System which comprises both full vehicle alarm and immobiliser, the addition of an auxiliary-in socket for the audio system and a Bluetooth® handsfree phone system with console-mounted control button. New to X-Trail is an enhanced interior colour scheme, featuring a single colour dash and door trims. This single, dark grey colour gives a more integrated and elegant appearance inside the cabin. Cloth upholstery, cruise control buttons located on the steering wheel and air conditioning continue on ST-L as do six airbags, Electronic Stability Programme, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. All X-Trail models feature both Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) to aid vehicle control in hilly environments.
X-Trail Ti builds on ST-L specification with the inclusion of new 18 inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with 215/55 R18 tyres, and a host of features to differentiate the two models. The Ti features chrome door handles and grille, front fog lights and the larger alloy wheels to give it an updated appearance. On the inside there is luxurious leather upholstery, electrically-adjustable and heated front seats, leather trim on steering wheel, gearshift and handbrake, and the inclusion of Climate Control air conditioning and a 6-disc in-dash audio system. A full electrically-operated glass sunroof gives the cabin a spacious and airy feeling even with the roof closed. X-Trail Ti also features a fully-integrated Bluetooth® handsfree phone system with controls mounted on the steering wheel. Also mounted on the steering wheel are buttons for cruise control, audio system and drive computer.
The diesel engine range comprises the TS and TL models. Like ST-L petrol the TS diesel features 17 inch 6-spoke alloy wheels with 215/60 R17 tyres, Nissan Anti-Theft Alarm System and a Bluetooth® handsfree phone system. TS adds a 6-disc in-dash audio system with auxiliary-in socket and full steering wheel controls with buttons for cruise control, Bluetooth® handsfree phone system, audio system and drive computer. On the exterior TS features chrome door handles and front fog lights.
X-Trail TL furthers the TS specification with the addition of 18 inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with 215/55 R18 tyres and chrome grille. Leather upholstery is included along with leather steering wheel, leather gearshift and handbrake. Electrically-adjustable and heated front seats, Climate Control air conditioning and an electrically-operated glass sunroof complete the step up to TL.
X-Trail continues its versatility and “go anywhere” appeal with an innovative underfloor storage system and removable, washable rear load area. 60/40 split rear seats divide up the load and cabin area depending on the task at hand and folding the rear seats flat increases the X-Trail load capacity from 603L to an enormous 1773L.
First arrivals of the 2010 Nissan X-Trail begin and are on sale prior to Christmas 2009.
