AdBlue® in the D27 Nissan Navara

The D27 Nissan Navara uses AdBlue® technology to meet Euro 6 emissions standards while maintaining diesel performance, efficiency and capability.

This system reduces Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emissions and operates automatically during normal driving.

What is AdBlue®?

AdBlue® is a diesel exhaust fluid used in vehicles fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. It is a clear, colourless solution of high-purity urea and demineralised water.

AdBlue® is:

- Not a fuel additive
- Stored in a separate, dedicated tank
- Injected into the exhaust system — not the fuel system

It assists in converting harmful NOx emissions into harmless substances such as nitrogen gas and water vapour.

How It Works

During operation, a controlled amount of AdBlue® is introduced into the exhaust stream. Within the SCR system, it reacts with exhaust gases to reduce emissions.

The process:

- Is fully automatic
- Requires no driver input
- Does not affect performance, towing or fuel economy

AdBlue® Range and Refilling

Under typical driving conditions, a full AdBlue® tank will last approximately:

10,000–17,000 kilometres

Consumption varies depending on driving style, load and operating conditions.

The Navara provides progressive dashboard warnings when AdBlue® levels are low, including remaining driving distance estimates. Owners should arrange a refill when prompted.

AdBlue® can be:

- Refilled during servicing*

- Purchased from Nissan dealers or selected service stations

Important Information

If the AdBlue® tank becomes empty, the vehicle will continue operating until switched off. Once turned off, it will not restart until AdBlue® is added. This safeguard ensures regulatory compliance.
If AdBlue® is accidentally added to the diesel fuel tank, do not start the engine. Contact Nissan Roadside Assistance or your Nissan dealer immediately.
AdBlue® is non-toxic and non-flammable. Any spills should be rinsed with water. AdBlue® can be mildly corrosive to paint and metal surfaces if left to dry. If you spill AdBlue® on your vehicle's paint, wash it off immediately with clean water to prevent any potential damage.
